09.07.2006 - Box End Park Summer Comp.
- Competitors defy wind!..
It was going to take more than some blustery conditions to keep the Box End Park competitors off
the water during our first club competition, held on Sunday the 9th July.
23 club members stepped up in what were described as 'challenging conditions' to take part in 2 rounds of
slalom skiing. A guaranteed 4 passes were offered with competitors best score of the day taken and marked against a
registered PB.
The main aim of the day was to provide an opportunity for some of the less experienced members to have a go at
skiing within a competition and for every one to have a laugh. This was comfortably achieved with plenty of people
turning out fantastic performances despite the conditions. 3 classes were run, Male, Female and 1/2 course,
with the results in the table below. For what was a friendly competition, everyone was surprisingly interested
in their scores..... (however the adverse weather conditions meant that everyone had a good excuse readily available…)
A big thanks to Catherine and Paul for a fantastic driving and judging partnership and to every one for coming
along and supporting us, both during the day and since our opening. Look forward to seeing you all again soon.
